Hi Gang!! Well I thought I would start on my kit exchange entry. But I have no ideas on how to build it. I would of never bought this kit in a thousand years. First it's a General Motors car, I'm not normally interested in them. I guess that's why we do the kit exchange so you get something you don't normally build. But the question still stands...How do I build it???!!! What style? Stock, Drag? 4X4? Mud bogger??? Junkyard wreck?? Anyone got any ideas? HELP!!!! -Louie

Good question. I don't even know what I would do with it.
But you're right ~ that's the fun of the Kit Exchange ... being forced to build something you would not ordinarily build.
Some of my past Kit Exchange builds turned out to be fun and memorable ... my first NASCAR ... my first curbside foreign econobox ... my first 'tuner.'
Here's the NASCAR ~

I probably would not have built any of them had it not been for the Kit Exchange. I'm glad I took the challenge.
Just stretch your imagination ... you'll come up with an unusual take on what would be an unusual subject for you. You'll be alright!

I'm picturing an IROC Firebird. And Dan is right. Beyond competing for the monthly award, it is a personal challenge to make something interesting out of a kit you normally would not build. In the past I have used the kit exchange as a test bed to try some new modeling techniques. Think body sculpting, interior treatments, special paint techniques, photoetch, etc. Bernie

For no sane reason I can think of, I pictured a late 50's style custom with a jacked-up rear end and slicks (rake) and a huge blower sticking out of the hood - almost a Daniels characature but not quite.

Dan you didn't tell him how much money you put into your free NASCAR kit.................. True dat. But he didn't ask. ;D
Louie,
NASCAR Kit = Free. Sudden addiction to NASCAR photoetch and aftermarket parts = About $200. Resulting trophy = Priceless. What can I say?

I have started on it!!! I stripped the interior and found a roll cage left over from one of my Johan Maverick kits. Got some Headers and different wheels too. I think I have the decals and the paint job figured out, but not sure on color yet. Now the gears are turning!!! Sometimes it's like writer's block, you just don't know how to start, until someone kicks you in the head with an inspiration!! Thanks guys!! -Louie
