Dave, It's a really good kit. I have one more that I bought before this build. Good thing too as I needed the directions. The wheel opening molding and side trim is seperate peices on the chrome tree. The engine needs to be assembled in a paticular order.
I found this out the hard way on the Lindberg 66 Chevelle. I assembled the motor with pulleys and all. The pulleys and alt prevented the body from going on the chassis. This 442 was no different. Both are really good kits for a stock build.

Love those redlines. I try to put them on all my 69 and older builds with some exceptions. The tires that came in this kit are great!!

Hey Raoul, You should do a Demo on how to put the redlines on. I know its just a decal but its not that easy get get them centered on the tire.....So maybe a quick demo on how you do it would be nice. I have 2 1/2...4 tire sets of the red lines that are Tampo printed on the tires and the one set has blue lines printed on the other side of the red lines...some day I will build something to use them on!

That is a really nice build, What color did you use for the interior?

Dave, I paint the redlines on with acrylic paint. I sould do a tire painting demo. I'm not that great at it and it depends on the tire. I have a few tricks I do and one I have not tried yet.

That is a really nice build, What color did you use for the interior? I can't answer that one. I let everyone know at the club meeting know that this was a rebuild project that I purchased from Bernie. I stripped the body and motor and repainted them. The interior and chassis were left alone and from the original builder. I had to reglue them back together. I did some touch ups to the chassis. The motor was blue and the body was pearl white. I added wires and heater hoses to the engine. I wish I knew who the original builder was.

Nice job Raoul, after seeing this, I had to get the 66 convertible version. I have that kit. I have not built it yet but it's a great kit. I recently read that the 66 442 was the only year that got a tri-carb engine. Same reason the GTO lost it for 67. GM said no more multi carb engines except Corvette for 67 and on. The conv kit only has the 4v 400 in it. I found out the the AMT 66 442 hardtop kit has the Tri-Carb engine. So I will have to get that kit too. I understand the kit is the W30 which is very rare in 66. Less than 60 were made.

HMMMMM....are any of those engine parts worth resin casting?? I just finished a mold of the engine parts from my original IMC Chaparral 2E kit. There are 41 parts to it. I started an auction on good old Ebay for them, just search IMC. I also cast the valve cover Sonni gave me. It's a nice finned cover that says SS427 on it.

I picked up 2 Olds models from Bernie as well that might have been built by the same guy as did yours. I think mine are 69 & 70 442's I am going to pretty much rebuild them like you did..the chassis's and interiors are really nice but the bodys will be re-painted decal'd. I will maybe do a before, durning and after photo shoot of the rebuild. Dave

Got my 66 convertible in the mail yesterday, nice kit. Has nice tires with working steering. comes as a four speed with separate console, door panels and dual exhaust system and nicely detailed front and rear suspension. Not much chrome, but an awesome looking kit. Got it fast too! Just wish it had the louvered hood like Raoul's 67! It does have a convertible up top part too, that's pretty cool!

Greg, I have another 67 kit unbuilt. If you want to pull a mold off the hood for the louvers you can. I think that might be a challenge thou as they are very shallow.
I just got my 73 Hurst Olds resin kit. It has a similar scoop that is seperate.
