We've been doing some rearranging of the house due to a water pipe leak and subsequent events. As a result, I've lost some storage space and have allocated some of my stash for "reownership". I gave some to DSC8 for their raffle, I gave some to the Phoenix Children's Hospital. The next step would be to give the rest to the East Valley Boys & Girls Club. Some of these kits deserve better than being thrust into the glue-smeared hands of unskilled adolescents. So I thought I'd make them available to local members of the board and/or Moonlight Modelers. I just have a problem with how.
I thought about offering them for free, but then realized that some of you would be maimed or killed in the feeding frenzy. Entertaining as this might be, I don't think my insurance covers it. Then I thought of an auction, but my circumstances prohibit this. I live on a circle with parking for four visitors in my driveway and one tricycle in the street. I am one of the few people in America without a utility vehicle to haul stuff around. The best thought I came up with is to post stuff on my Fotki page and let you bid in the comments fields (winners responsible for fetching their winnings from Tempe). I'm not sure this is the best course of action, so I'm soliciting suggestions from the peanut gallery.
We're talking 90+ kits here. Some are pretty mundane, some not so much.

So am I. You could donate them to the Cactus Car Modelers club and let the club auction them off to the members. Bernie has done this before for club funds.

A 90 line list is kind of long. Am I allowed to make a post that size?

I have an interest in the Johan 70 Cutlass and the 68 Deville convertible. Other forums ban posting items for sale and I just don't understand why.

I've loaded pictures of all 92 kits into: public.fotki.com/FMW/fmws-kits/I'm still hoping someone will come up with a better selection/distribution method than auction via Fotki comments. FMW

See updated post. (You'd think these things would be smart enough to update the post date if you made a modification, but noooooo.)

Okay, it looks like it's going to be a Fotki-based thing here, 'cause no one has suggested anything else. I'd like to propose something and get some feedback on the idea so DON'T DO ANYTHING YET!
Fotki allows a picture-specific comment in the "Write your message here" field, including a "NAME" field for identification. I don't want anyone exposing their name or email on a public page like Fotki, so I PROPOSE that anyone interested PM me (DON"T DO IT YET!) their name and/or email. I'll then assign you a bidder number (much better than the embarrassing alias I would likely assign). If you know anyone not on the board, you could send them my email (to be provided once things are finalized) and they, too, would be assigned a number.
I'll let this sit for a few days for people to say yea, nay, or propose something else.

Well, I for one am on a fixed income . I do not use E Bay or craigs list as I'm buying what few kits I do purchace to build , not resell , speculate on or anything else . if you want to auction the kits , that's entirely up to you .........

That's pretty much why I'm trying to implement a private auction for the board. I'm really just trying to find an appreciative home for these kits, but I suspect there is going to be some contention over some of them. I guess I forgot to mention that the starting bid will be $1.
