Well ...
I'll get this thing going for you!
With an opening bid of $1 ...
I'll bid a dollar on each and every one of them, all of them.
(I count 98 items, ergo that's 98 opening bids of $1 each!)
Let anybody who wants something outbid me!
It's on, guys! Bring it. ;D
{Set it up however you want, FMW. Call me bidder number uno or whatever.}

Well, it appears that the gun has been jumped. I should have known that keeping this under control would be like herding cats via remote control airplane. Anyone ELSE who wants a bidder number, contact me via PM or email (MD_2197@msn.com). You can let your friends, enemies, and total strangers know about this, as long as it's perfectly clear that winners are responsible for picking their stuff up in Tempe themselves or by proxy. Also, if bids get too high on certain items, I may step in and arbitrate.
The management reserves the right to be capricious and arbitrary.

I guess I may as well try to formalize this before it gets too far out of hand. To bid on a kit, first request a bidder number from me by PM or email at MD_2197@msn.com. My available kits are listed on my Fotki photo page: public.fotki.com/fmw/fmws-kits/When you click on a kit photo, under the photo will be a field labeled "Write your message here". When you click on that field, you will see a line labeled "Guest" with the fields "Name" and "Email". Enter you bidder number in the "Name" field. Leave the "Email" field blank (I am attempting to preserve your privacy to the greatest extent possible). Enter a number (no dollar sign, no decimal) in the comment field. This is your bid in dollars. If the bids go too high, I will arbitrate between bidders. This is an auction for builders, not collectors or resellers. A few of the pictures have comments that I have included. Please take note of them before bidding. You will notice there are only 92 pictures. A few kits got redacted during the photography process. It is difficult for me to make this happen while my inner child is yelling "Mine! Mine! Mine!" during the operation. Gentlepeople, start your engines. FMW

It's not. It's just pretending to be one to help me get rid of some stuff and maybe for board members to get stuff cheap.

That's what I keep asking myself: "When will it end? When will it ever end?" Oh, you meant the auction. Well, I figure if we go two days without getting a new bid or bidder, things are done. It will run till at least the end of next weekend, just in case some people don't visit the board too often.
Of course, this is just what's in my head. I'm always willing to listen to advice. (I don't take it very often, but I listen.)

I figure it's about time to start closing down the auction. Starting 12:00 midnight Sunday, 05-13-12, if a 48 hour period elapses with no new bids or bidder number requests, I will privatize the album and send the winning bidders their results. In any case, I will close the auction at 10:00 PM (approximately) on Sunday, 05-20-12. Results will be sent the following morning.

It should have been, but a couple of guys slipped bids in while I was asleep. That reset the 48 hour clock. If nobody else bids, the auction will end at 5:46 PM, Saturday, 5-19-12. Otherwise it ends at 10:00 PM, Sunday, 5-20-12. I'll let people know by email or PM what they won and where to pick up.

Since there haven't been any new bids in the last 48 hours, the auction is now closed. I will be contacting the bidders with their results. Thanks for your participation.

Thanks to all of those who participated and those who merely put up with me using the board to get rid of my excess. I still have more kits than I'll ever build, but now none of them are in the living room.
