Raoul, I have some paint codes for Eleanor. Dupont Fleet is 44490 Pepper Metallic Gray. The code for the black metallic paint stripes is 44435. What type of automotive paint should I get? I called and the guy quoted $15.00 per pint of some kind of synthetic two stage paint. I'm guessing I need a two stage so I can paint the body, mask off the stripes, paint the stripes and then do the clear over the whole body?

Here is Dear old Eleanor clayed up, boxed up and getting here skirt wet in silicone. I decided I needed her exhaust pipes for my TA project. I pour 200 grams of silicone in the mold and let it cure to insure the make shift box does not come apart when the serious silicone work starts. I will be making a copy by Wednesday.

Well...I'm a bit disappointed There is a flaw in the side exhaust pipe on the drivers side. It trapped a small air bubble. the picture shows it. This is the second time on the second body that this has happened. I cleaned the surface with a Q tip and alcohol and put a drop of silicone on the surface. Hopefully it will make it turn out better. I will try number 2 in the morning. I have learned two lessons. #1 do not be in a hurry to get it done. #2 when doing a large project with delicate areas that can trap air, make up a small amount of silicone and brush it on, let it cure then proceed with boxing it up to make the mold! I really wanted to recast these sidepipes for my TA project, so they need to look good! Other than that flaw the body is perfect, the flash is thin and pops out easily. She's a beauty ;D
