Both local clubs have monthly contests with a specific theme each time.
Members enter models they've built that fit within the theme.
Things like "Street Rods" or "Nostalgia Drags" or "Light Commercial" or "Fords" or "Fifties Cars," etc.
So, just out of curiousity, what's your favorite theme to build for and compete in?

Boy, that's a toughie. I'm pretty eclectic in my building (if it's plastic, I'll glue it). I get the most satisfaction out of customs and show cars. I can't paint worth a darn, and I don't have the patience to do detail anywhere near what some of the board members do, so I can't really compete in box stock or showroom stock (doesn't mean I don't build them, they just don't turn out as winners). If you've looked at my stuff, it's pretty obvious that if I got to name a category, it would be "What the h*ll is THAT?!?"

Hey Guys, I think builders choice is my favorite theme, because it allows me to build and compete with subjects I have or enjoy building. JMHO. Jere

Love the pre 70ish AMERICAN MADE (!!!) machinery, drag cars. customs and pick-ups. then having fun building something presentable with an AMERICAN MADE kit (if possible). Instead of competing against the many quality builders in the club(s) , (guys like Jere and Dean as examples) I prefer to throw my stuff out on the table and hope to be noticed!!!! Thanks for listening!!! Michael
