This is what I am starting with. I picked this one up at the Hollis Flea Market for $5.00. The F100 will be Hemi powered. The front and rear suspensions with beefed up springs. The paint will be Tamiya TS-19 Metallic blue. More to come...

Since I am adding a 426 Hemi to this F100, new engine and transmission mounts are necessary. All four springs on this truck are very thin and fragile. I added a strip of styrene to the springs for a little added support. The 426 Hemi is almost finished. I need to add the wired distributor and coil. I used embossing powder for carpet and painted the frame and floor pan with Tamiya TS-19 Metallic Blue. I have decided on a wheel and tire for this F100. The wheels and tires from a Revell '06 Mustang GT. More to come...

Finally...a few minutes to myself without any interruptions tonight. I started the chassis assembly by installing the front and rear suspensions. I still need to add the front and rear shocks. I found a steering wheel in my parts box and made a tilt wheel out of it. This driver will be comfortable! Still rummaging through the parts box, I found a set of '06 Mustang disc brakes. This '56 will stop on a dime! I was able to get the distributor wired and glued to the Hemi, but I still need to run the wires and set up the ignition coil. More to come...

I did a quick mockup to see how everything was fitting. I painted the floor with Model Master Wood. This will be coated with gloss clear and BMF'd later. The brake rotors have been attached to the wheels. The Hemi at home. When I did the mockup, I notice that the front axle was slightly warped. I removed it from the springs and tried to twist it slightly in the opposite direct and the fragile plastic broke right in the center. I have a new axle coming from a fellow Classic Plastic Model Club member. More to come...

Bummer, but still looks like a great project.
I would like to get my hands on a mid 50's International pickup. My dad had a 56.

You could fix your existing axle if you: 1) Glue it back together. 2) Carefully cut a slot lengthwise across the break. 3) Epoxy or super-glue a straight pin (minus the head) into the slot. 4) Putty over the slot and move along.

For the most part, the dash is done. I just need to install the tach somewhere. The seat, shifter, and gas tank are installed. I was originally going with a blue and white interior, but I had issues with my masking of the seat. After cleaning up the seat as best as I could, I gave it a light coat of Tamiya TS-19 Metallic Blue and the result is a tu-tone effect that I really like. The Hemi is finally completed and installed into the chassis. I'll install the exhaust system next after some cleanup of moldlines and custom shaping to line up with the Hemi exhaust manifolds. I probably should have used the Hemi headers instead of the manifolds. More to come...

After I mounted the wheels and tires, I did a mockup to check the stance and ride height...perfect for a daily driver! I foiled the ribs on the bed. I'll polish the paint and then clearcoat the bed. I temporarily mounted the grille to see if I should paint the area behind it. That is a yes! More to come...

If FOOOOooord ( remember that guy) would release a 1 to 1 truck with the 56 ford lines, like they did with the Mustang and the 67 look, I think it would be a seller. there still a good looking truck. and so is your's

They all look like they swallowed the south end of a northbound guardrail.

Thanks guys! Apparently Ford has forgotten what a grille is suppose to look like. They design their grilles to look like it is blocking air from getting to the radiator instead of allowing air in to cool the engine.
