I saw a similar thread on another forum and thought this would be fun. Here are some projects of mine that did not get finished this year for whatever reason. Like many of you I have way more projects started than this but here goes.
I would like to see some of yours and let see how many get done in 2014!!
This first one is a 1958 Thunderbird Convertible. This started as a 60 AMT kit that the emblems were sanded off. So I swapped the 59 interior tub and ordered modelhaus bumpers and wheels from the 58 promo. No 58 kit was offered from AMT. The up top is from a 65 Thunderbird kit but fits perfectly.
This next one is a 60 Thunderbird Convertible restoration. It has the correct continental kit too.
This last one is also a 60 Thunderbird. This one is a hardtop with the rare sunroof! This was the first year for the sunroof and they are rare.
Now for a couple of Javelins. These are some major restoration and resin projects. These have taken a few years to get this far.
First is a 69 Javelin SST. This is an original Johan body that I had to restore. Built from two original bodies. All the chassis and engine parts were resin cast as I needed many of them. Interior tub was cast from an original promo. Bumpers are original and rechromed.
This is a 70 Mark Donahue Javelin. This is 100% resin. Body, hood and glass are Matt Conte. Bumpers and grill are Modelhaus. Dash is Missing Link. All the rest was cast by me. Correction, Wheels and tires are AMT.
