I am interested in some more work on my Buick GSX flipnose creation. I was pretty ambitious when I first made the molds. I tried to make a flat hood that's not very good. But the other two are OK. I like the stance of this for a reference pic. This kit is a 1:25 kit and the Buick is 1:24. I know Dale is quite the wizard or God for scratchbuilding. Where can I learn about this subject for building scale models? Here are more parts. I got several kits and just started to make separate parts. I have learned much since then about molds and resin. I also have added some parts from the new tool 442 kit like the 4 speed tranny and the door handles and foot pedals. They are different scales but physically the trannies were the same size. I have a guy working on a bench front seat for it too. That is to say one for my Buick and one for the new tool 442 kit. Some of the parts have been cast in clear resin.

That's neat, Greg! You really ought to crank that one out; looks like it would be a fun build. And very, very unique! Builder's Choice is coming up in February and again in August!

Thanks, Now that I have some experience with resin casting, I'm going to go back and tidy up the masters and make new molds out of the silicone I am presently using. Bernie actually built one with some of the first resin I was using. I think he had some paint problems. The parts would not hold paint. I was just starting out too, I have learned much since then.

Well....this has not happened for some time. My boards broke loose and the silicone went all over. Fortunately with some work the wasted silicone can be ground up and used as filler in another mold. Here are a couple of hoods I made new molds of. I took some time to make the flat hood better. I attempted to polish it before making the mold but I got lazy and said screw it! A builder may punch the top out for a blower anyway. Next is the GS hood version. If by chance the new tool 442 becomes a Skylark/GS this projected will be scrapped and revised in 1:25 scale.. The molds will be chopped up and used for filler.
