The initials stand for Frankenstein Motor Works. I do a lot of plastic slicing and splicing. Check my Kazon Kruiser (http://public.fotki.com/FMW/kkruiser/) for an example. I built a lot of cars in the 60's (mostly ill-done and gone to dust now). I started again in the early 80's with the idea of building one of every body style (not year) of Corvette. Well, the selection of Corvette kits was a little limited then, and my attention wandered. I'm kinda CDO (that's like OCD but the letters are in the right order) and I started picking up other stuff. I currently have built Vette's, around 30 other builts, and over 1200 unbuilt kits, half of them cars. I also have a bunch of resin and builts I bought on eBay. Coming briefly to my senses, I recently donated 34 kits to the Phoenix Childrens Hospital (they wanted them still in cellophane), 100+ to Walter Reed Hospital (war vets), and 100+ to the East Valley Boys and Girls Clubs. I've still got way more than I'll live to build (but what will I want to build NEXT?!) so I've got to figure out how to pry some more out of my own greedy paws.
I'm a retired electrical engineer. If you post a problem, I'll probably give you advice (not necessarily GOOD advice, but it's free and almost worth it).
I've dabble in a lot of stuff, including casting and lighting (I build space ships, too). Just don't ask me about getting a smooth paint job - I've yet to do one that I'm happy with.
All for now.
