Here's my start on Revell's 2007 Shelby GT500. The engine was built almost box stock. Paint scheme is my own, done in Testors metalizers. I approximated reference photos on Google, leaving the pulleys aluminum for ease of painting and contrast with the belts. The "almost" box stock derives from the pulley mount. The instructions showed a projection on the engine front, whereas the actual part had only a slight circular depression. Again using Google photos, I cut and drilled a small piece of sprue to get close to the correct appearance (which no one will see once the engine is installed). FMW

It's a nice kit and enjoy it. BTW if the sprue cam from the same box it is still box stock!!

Here' a picture of the body with the color coat prior to the clear coat (just in case I screw up the clear). The paint is Dupli-Color Mirage Ice. I was hoping for a lighter tone, but I'll settle for charcoal with rainbows. As usual, more pics are on my Fotki page. FMW

The first photo isn't showing up? And that color looks pretty cool!!! Can't wait to see it with a clear coat... Where is your Fotki page link?

Sorry, I was moving stuff around my Fotki page to make it more organized and blew the link to the first pic. It's fixed now. My page is: public.fotki.com/FMW/I've got other color-shift paint photos in the Duplicolor Mirage Paint folder.
