I'm surprised I never posted any of mine here. Haven't built one in a few years. I have a few I working on that need to be completed. Anyway, Mr. Baker got me interested in building EV's. I still remember his 1997 Ford CV Phoenix Police car from the 2001 Copperstate. The one I really need to start is building the Trumpeter ALF engine. I will of course be building as a Phoenix truck since my dad is a retired Phoenix Fire Dept. chief. They're switching over to Pierce, so I would like to get it done before all of the ALF's are gone. www.flickr.com/photos/14543870@N06/sets/72157602907680018/

Nice looking builds, Rob, very nice!
Your '56 Chevy has always been one of my favorites, and your series of Chicago PD cars is great! Of course, I like that CFD Chief's car, too.
I'm flattered that you were inspired to build emergency vehicles by anything I did; you've created some excellent EV models!
You mention that Crown Vic Phoenix PD cruiser. Funny how one build really sticks with you; that's the only model I've ever sold and I've regretted it ever since! I did not intend to sell it, but a wealthy police buff saw it and wanted it in the worst way. He stayed after me until I finally agreed to sell it to him. I got good money for it, and I intended to build another just like it right away. Let's see, that's been how long now? D@#n near 10 years! LOL.
PS: I've never sold a model since!
And, hey! The Trumpeter ALF Eagle. Wow, what a kit, huh? You and I both need to get on with building that kit! I also plan to build a Phoenix FD rig with it. Engine 50 and Engine 56 are Eagles and housed not far from Casa Baker, but even better, there's a 'coming soon' sign at I-17 and Jomax that indicates the city will soon build Station 55 around the corner from us.
I figure that's good enough inspiration for a semi-phantom build of an Eagle as "Engine 55" and since it isn't in service yet, I can't be held responsible for any detail errors! LOL.
Of course, my luck being what it is, when they do open Station 55, they'll stock it with one of the new Pierces.
Keep 'em coming, Rob. Good to see your work again, and glad to hear you and the family are doing well!! Don't be a stranger.

The thing that keeps me from building it is that the cab and body that Phoenix uses is different from the kit. I'll have to send you the ALF brochure I have and some links to some web sites. The Phoenix trucks have a raised portion on top of the cab. They are mid engine, which moves the pump board to the back of the trucks. All of the doors are roll up also.

I hear you, Rob. I saw a pic of a resin cab that is being developed to replicate those ... should be available soon. Dave Carey out of Iowa ... Uses the nickname Cargostar on Model Cars Magazine's Forum ... indicated a few days ago that this will be available soon.
