So, I've been thinking about what the the next brave new frontier in scale accuracy will be. Working cigarette lighter? New cars don't even have them. Functioning dipsticks? Meh! It's been done. Gas tanks that actually hold fuel? The wife won't appreciate that one. Then, it occurred to me that for the ultimate in scale accuracy, a 1/25 scale model should weigh one-twentyfifth what a real car weighs! So, a car like mine weighs about 3800 lbs, so 1/25 of that is...152 lbs!! I think I'm going to need a bigger work bench.

Well...technically 1/25 scale vehicles (and the materials that make it) are 1/25 scale in two dimensions (really 3, but it would be difficult to obtain the necessary scale thickness of some parts in 1/25th scale). So your 3,800 lb vehicle would certainly weigh much less than 6 lbs. So don't beef up that workbench just yet. Bernie

The Franklin Mint cars come close to scale price, too - if you buy your cars at Barret-Jackson.
