Here is one of my latest projects, Monograms 70 gtx kit, its the one that was released in the 80's, picked it up on ebay for $ 4.00. I remember building this kit( the on released in the 90's), when I was kid. I remembered how much I liked the kit then. So I have not decided on colors yet, but that's one of the reasons I am here, what where the interior colors for the GTX? Any tips you guys might have please feel free to pass the on, my knowledge of cars from the 70's is limited, So far, I have got primer put down on the body and the parts.

I did decide to paint it sublime green, I am using MM sublime green lacquer , I have a few light coats on it, would have more but I ran out of paint. I am looking for wheels for this, I need either the wheels that were on the 70 roadrunner ( cop style wheels) or the style that I cant think of the name ( I know that helps)

Good choice!! The american racing Torque Thrust wheels look sharp on that. A Real nice set comes in the Revell 32 ford or the revell 68 Mustang (Bullitt Mustang) It's looking good. I'll be watching this one. -Louie

Nothing like a subtle, understated color! LOL. Looks good.
Your interior looks especially nice!
Good work; keep it coming.

Thanks guys, yea I know the color is a little noticeable lol, one reason why I went with the color is the reference pics I have been using , the car is painted this color.
I did the chassis the same as the reference car, it does have a black chassis with body color front.
I am almost finished with this build, everything now is done, just have to put all together, I am awaiting on the wheels to get here, so as soon as they get here it will be finished

It's looking really good. Are you going to add the stripes to the car?

I am not sure yet, I might but it depends on if the decals are still good, the decal sheet looks ok.

If the decals look old , you can save them using the model master clear. Two light coats. Don't get it too wet. Just a nice even coat twice. That's how I can save old Johan decals. The laquer is so hot coming out oh the can that it dries before it soaked in to the paper. Louie

I recently clearcoated some decals that were thin and it worked great. The stock decals that come in this kit are a horible lime green. I have some Fred Cady decals in white and black. They are yours if you want them. If you do the hood blackout you will have to paint it.

I was able to use the kit decals, I used what at one was the white stripes, now more of a yellowish . Its almost done, I waiting for the set wheels that I think I want to put on it to get here. And I want to do a little of engine wiring , going to to hobby store tomorrow , I will see if they have anything I can use.
