OK, I know this might be a tuff pull, but does anyone out there have the set up mentioned above, or an open, or partial built-up AMT 1964 Cutlass Convertible kit with the supercharger set up included? I'm led to believe that this supercharger came in the AMT 1964 Cutlass Convertible kit. Or, does anyone know if there is one offered by any resin casters?

Is this what you're looking for? I could attempt to make a casting, but the carbs might be a little tricky. Also, I don't work real fast. FMW

That is exactly what I'm looking for. Let me know what you can do.
Thanks.

I've been thinking about it. There are two ways to go. I can either cast the blower (with manifold plates), carbs, and blower belt as five separate pieces, or I can fill the gaps with clay and cast the whole engine (less headers) as one chunk. The individual pieces would take less resin and less mold material (I'm running low & was about to order more) and would be more flexible as to application. The other way ensures that you've got a block that fits and gets you the front plate (I'm not sure I can get this one off the block in one piece). It might take a little cutting or milling to clear the gaps to look good.
Preferences?

I would prefer the 5 individual pieces if at all possible. As far as the front plate, if the plate can not be removed from the front of the block safely for casting as a single piece, would it be possible to cast just the front of the motor with the plate attached and I can trim it down?

OK, we'll go for a six piece solution. Don't be surprised if I don't get to it for a week or three.

Thanks a bunch for the rapid reponse.

Here's my first effort. I only had enough mold mix to do a single-piece mold, so some of the parts (especially the manifolds) got air bubbles and will need some rework. The front cover I had to do with some 10-minute mold putty, so it lost a little fidelity from the original. I reworked the contrast in Paint Shop Pro to show the details better. The originals are on my Fotki page. Let me know if you want these. FMW

What other kit might have those come in?

I'm told that was the only kit they came in. Does anyone out there know otherwise?

They come in the 65 Cutlass HT too. Can I borrow your original parts? I really like this set up.

Sure, no problem. I'm planning on being at the Moonlight Modelers meeting tonight, or we can set up another transfer meet. It would be nice to see someone do a decent job of casting on them.

That is perfect, I plan to attend as well. Thank you. I'm hoping to make this part of my GSX flip nose build. That is, if I can get it beyond my planning stage.
