Just to get you in the mood for the VW Model Contest next month, maybe stoke the fires a little, I thought I'd show off our showroom!
We're redecorating our showroom with some vintage/classic VWs, surfboards, gas pumps, and one-of-a-kind Jetta hood art pieces. Take a look.
Our oldest VintageW is this 1959 bug; it's a European model with 'Trafficators' (pointers in the 'B' pillars that indicate turn direction, early turn signals) in a rare, one-year only metallic color called Diamond Gray. It's a real beauty! We also have this flawless 1967 bug; it's a two-owner original (freshened paint only) trade-in! Note those spiffy 'spats' (in the U.S. they're known as fender skirts). And then there's our 1963 bus; meticulously restored (with Porsche wheels and brakes upgrade), complete with roof rack and carved wood surfboard. It's gorgeous, too!Today, some Barrett-Jackson acquisitions arrived to compliment the VintageWs. A 30's era Polly gas pump.A late 30's art-deco Standard gas pump.A 40's era Gilmore gas pump.

There's more!
Hanging around the top of the walls are some one-of-a-kind pieces of art ... painted and airbrushed on Jetta hoods!
Check 'em out. (There's actually two more, but they're undergoing some touchups at present; they'll be back.)

And, here's the official T-shirt! We auctioned the first one at the Moonlight Modelers meeting Saturday night ... it brought $25! You can gets your own (for not-that-much) at the VW Model Contest held in conjunction with the Inaugural Classic Car Show and Charity Event at Lunde's Peoria Volkswagen, 8801 W. Bell Road, Peoria, on Saturday, February 18 (from 9am to 3pm).
See you there!
