There is a hobby store located in Scottsdale , on Scottsdale Road , I want to say a few miles north of the 202, its on the west side of Scottsdale Rd, I have been there once, but I dont remember the name of the place.
The owner of the sell store also sells on Ebay as well.

I did a googly search, I hate Bing, and the one that sounds like what your describing is Avalon Books and hobbies at 1510 N scottsdale Rd Tempe,AZ.85281

There is a Burger king close to it on the same side. Avalon is just North of it heading away from the freeway.

There is Avalon Books and Hobby Town at Thomas !
Avalon is more military HT has more cars and you can use your discount card!! PK
