This part is for the strainer stopper. These are stoppers that are strictly used for garbage disposals. The stopper on the left is what you will find in most stores. The one on the right is not very common and but handy in the kitchen. The outer part of the stopper stays in place and the center can be raised, turned slightly and then it locks open to drain a sink full of water. This stopper is actually sold by Insinkerator garbage disposals. It is called a silversaver. Here is a pic of the under side of them. HHHHHHMMMMMMM.................I was really hoping it would come apart more. That's OK I'll fix that!

Actually, I am building a American Graffiti related model from a Revell of Germany kit. That's all the clues I can give right now. Moonlight theme for Aug is American Graffiti related builds. Sorry Greg, but the website says model cars and this page indicates we ought to be talking resin kits. So I moved the conversation. I was finding your presentation a little draining. Bernie

Have patience Bernie! It will become resin related as it will be a resin kit. BE PATIENT!! If you would like me to put wheels on it I can do so.

I once started to build a street rod out of half of an old telephone handset.
Nobody was impressed but me. Years ago I tried to make a long distance phone call from my own living room. An operator came on the line and told me I needed to put some money in the phone. She could not except the fact that I was at home. After some exploration into the situation someone had crossed some lines at the telephone switch gear building that was at the end of the road I lived on.

I have made new designs of a couple of the parts. The part on the left is 1/8 th inch in diameter larger. The part on the right will serve as the new gasket. I did not photograph this procedure. I put clay inside the larger part to build up and seal the inside. I leveled the part with a bulls eye level and poured in some resin to start making the part. Once cured I remove the resin part, cleaned it up , leveled it once again and poured a small amount of resin to build it up to create a decent useable part. I made some larger diameter discs out of styrene sheet and glued the two parts together. I will cast these to use to make a final master part. That is the plan.

I really didn't like the gasket master I made so I will try again. I cut this gasket at work with the shown Allpax gasket cutter. I did a quick study of this gasket cutting kit and I thought to myself.....SELF! This might be a really good casting subject. I looked Ebay and they go for well over $200.00. I will change it up a bit and add it to my to do list. Once the silicone cures I will clean up the stray silicone at the inner diameter of the gasket.
