Guess I'll put something here. Can't really remember when I started building models other then early 50's with Comet balsa aircraft and the Aurora 19 and 29 cent planes. The first cars I build were the Aurora 1/32 Cunningham and Ferrari America in about 1959. Then back to ac and space stuff and was getting into ships a bit. Then in late 62 a friend on the school bus had the AMT Double Dragster kit he was doing up for a contest at the local sporting goods store. He said you like cars, you build models, why don't you build a car model. Sounds like a good idea, one 63 Lincoln convert and one can of Pactra Candy Purple later I still wasn't sure, but got a couple of more. Then saw the first full size issue of Car Model with the Crusader 40 Ford sedan on the cover and the hook was set. Was always more into replica and showroom stock then customs, hot rods, etc. Especially like the full Classics and brass era stuff so really happy to see some of the new kits coming out. Even if they aren't American made and pretty high dollar. Anyway eventually moved to Southern Cal and fell in with the International Association of Automotive Modelers, So Cal chapter which really opened up some new worlds. After it folded up as an international group joined with the Model Car Collectors Association. After some problems there a group of us established a new club the Automotive Modelers Society with its publication Scale Wheels. This lasted about 10 years with me doing a major part of the publication the last few years. During that time had got laid off and relocated to the Phoenix area were I already knew a few of the Moonlight Modelers from the NNL-West, Kit Collectors Show and had come over a couple of times for the show here. Joined up with that group and still belong. Currently have been on a paper model kick and vintage tractors. Old picture of me with Budd "the Kat" Anderson. A little whiter and wider now.
