Lanny, you should come down here more often. the mold for the body is done. It needs to cure longer. I should have a litter coming soon! LOL That is if all went well with the mold. Removing the master still might be a problem. The grille still looks scary to me. I put a foam filler strip in so that the inside of the mold could be somewhat collapsed to aid in it's removal from a master or resin copy. Masters that have had extensive changes may not survive their removal from the new master mold.

The foam piece will want to float to the top and needs to be weighted down. Do not use something too heavy. It will sink and create problems with the mold. Balsa wood might be a good alternative to foam blocks.

Removing the master went pretty well. The only damage sustained by the master was the rear bumper getting pulled off. Now Mike can take this master and turn it into another body style.

The pictures my cheap hundred dollar camera takes does make things look a bit weird. It is shiny and has a texture because I sprayed some mold release in. I should have brushed it out first before pouring resin in. It does look a little better now that I gave it a good washing with alcohol. This body is made from SMOOTH - TASK 8 resin. You could take this body and set it in the dash of your car in August with the windows up and it would laugh at the heat. As a matter of fact you would be strengthening it by doing the heat cure that the instructions suggest. I just don't wish to put my mold in such heat but it might take it too.

I have made two now. I do notice that it is thicker on the passenger side than on the drivers side.

Looks great, Greg. It appears that the first body pulls the flecks of clay and what-not from the mold. If these look as smooth as those 'Vette bodies, who could ask for anything more!

Here is a master set a made from Smooth-On 300 resin. I will attempt to make a set of clear windows from these.

I did not like what I was getting from the mold above. I spent most all of yesterday sanding and polishing the masters that Mike made and have started this mold. I have positioned the glass flatter. Hopefully this will be better. The mold above I put them in at an angle so one side would come out thicker making them look really bad when put in the body. Hopefully this will work.
